Bilingual Global Sourcing Manager

SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT (Approximately 20% of Time)

  • Develops trusting relationships with suppliers to maximize business opportunities and promote company growth.
  • Manages current business to secure volumes and maximize profits on current commodities.
  • Identifies and pursues new business supply-driven opportunities.
  • Conducts Strategic Planning Sessions with suppliers.

SUPPLY DRIVEN OPPORTUNITIES AND CONTRACT MANAGEMENT (Approximately 30% of Time) ( you

  • Negotiates and contracts with suppliers.
  • Responds to Sales Driven Opportunities with adequate supply options and pricing.
  • Develops supply options for relevant sales opportunities.
  • Develops supply options for relevant market or R&D Opportunities.
  • Monitors crop development to ensure contract completion for assigned programs.

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT (Approximately 20% of Time)

  • Understand seasons per commodity and update sales on crop status (beginning of crop, product availability, constricted items)
  • Plan programs by commodity per growing season and origin in coordination with sales team.
  • Leads internal production meetings with sales staff and program review.
  • Helps assess general market circumstances by commodity.
  • Educates Sales and R&D Teams on potential supply opportunities.

Supply Development (Approximately 20% of Time)

  • Evaluates and recommends new suppliers and coordinates all necessary information with QA&FS Dept for approval.
  • Supports Q&FS on Supplier Qualification.
  • Reviews trade intelligence data and leads, in order to identify and engage new relevant supply.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SUPPLY SUPPORT (Approximately 10% of Time)

  • Supports Sales, Supply Management, and Q&FS on supplier visits.
  • Supports Supply Management assess department needs for hiring.
  • Helps train staff to comply with department and company guidelines.
  • Actively participate in weekly department meetings, weekly division meetings and monthly company meetings (agenda preparation, minutes, internal communication.)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four‑year college or university preferred, with a degree in International Business, Biologic Sciences or Agribusiness, and ten years related experience and/or training in Supplier Management and Development position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures with conformance to the prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from government entities, employees, managers, clients, and the general public. Bilingual Spanish speaking required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to work with statistical processes and mathematical concepts.Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to interpret trends and variances in data collection sets.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables, occasionally in situations where only limited information exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to prioritize and distinguish critical vs. non-critical failures.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be well organized, a self-starter, and demonstrate sound decision making.
  • Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Must be even-tempered and team spirited - a good sense of humor is desirable.
  • Must be computer literate and have experience with basic software systems.
  • Must have the ability to quickly learn specific software.
  • Must be able to make sound independent decisions based on available data.
  • Must be able to work with a variety of personalities in an effective manner.
